This challenge made Apple go for an expensive deal with LG Innotek. LG Innotek, which is a South Korean company will be a supplier for the latest iPhone14 and iPhone 14 Pro. Apple will now use LG Innotek’s components in these two models for the front camera. Also, the new camera will offer an auto-focus function.
The new front-facing camera is expensive
The camera is known to be a high-end front camera which will cost almost three times more than camera units Apple has used in its previous iPhone models. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that all four iPhone 14 models including iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone Pro Max will offer autofocus in their front camera along with a wider f/1.9 aperture. With this deal, LG Innotek becomes the first-ever South Korean manufacturer to supply that one particular component to Apple.
